export the right view from sketchup.
A clean export gives a cleaner render.
Hocus reads lines and shapes, so whatever is in the export gets read too. Before you export:
- turn off axes and the section planes you don't need
- turn off shadows (Hocus brings its own light)
- use plain edges, not sketchy styles
- frame the view the way you want the render framed
Then use File → Export → 2D Graphic, PNG or JPG, at least 1600px wide.
A 3:2 or 16:9 shape renders sharpest. A much wider or taller view keeps its framing, with a little less detail.
Tip: save the scene in SketchUp once it's framed. Then every re-export matches.
