click, brush, lasso, box.

Four ways to select an area, and when to use each.

  • Click: picks a whole surface in one go. Best for walls, floors and ceilings with clean edges.
  • Brush: paint over it. Best for soft or irregular areas, like a rug or planting.
  • Lasso: draw around it. Best for odd shapes the click doesn't catch cleanly.
  • Box: drag a rectangle. Best for a window, a door or a panel.

You can mix them: click the wall, then brush in the corner it missed.

Tip: if the selection looks almost empty, Hocus will tell you before anything is used.
